This Mason Jar Owl is so cute I want to make another one!

How cute would this be packed with candy for a host gift, or maybe a teacher gift filled with pencils!

So let’s grab the supplies, this craft is an easy one and you’ll have your own ‘lil mason jar owl whipped up in no time!
-Mason Jar (on sale at Michael’s $1)
-Brown Metallic Paint (on sale at Michael’s $1.25 each- and I only needed ONE)
-2 Jar Lids
-Brown Mini Feather Boa (used coupon at Michael’s $1.65)
-Black Sticker Foam
-White Paper
-Glue Gun

I always found this step in any craft project a blast- made me feel like a kid! Squirt that paint inside the jar, on the sides, on the bottom and all around. Now start the turn in so the paint can drip all over the inside. Be careful not to let it spill out the top while you’re entranced in the dripping hehe.
You can also put the top on so your sure not to spill.

Take your 2 lids and trace them over the white paper. I used scrapped book paper with a tiny detail because, well my blog is called Love Inspired Details. One of those things I feel like I notice even if no one else does 😉

Oh I liked this part! Wrap the mini boa around the top adding some hot glue along the way to secure in place. Then I simply looped a “wing” on one side and glued in place. Did the same to the other side, just double check they’re symmetrical. At least I did because that would have really bugged me.

Add the yellow beak and glue those big beautiful eyes in position!

I feel like I should name him… hmm, I’m gonna ponder the perfectly playful name.

That would be cute! I’m using mine at work for a pencil holder and all my students comment and tell me they like his big eyes 🙂
